POSITION STATUS:  Regular, Full Time, Non-Exempt


Position Summary
  • Performs diversified mechanical operations required to fabricate, assemble, fit out, test, and disassemble wet and dry processing equipment in a quality manner following blueprints, specifications, and verbal instruction.
  • Essential Functions
  • Using specifications provided, builds machines such as etchers, strippers, rinse, dryers, input, output, and drive. Typical assembly operations include:
  • Fabricate, fit, align, bond chamber bottoms, backs, side walls, legs, and trusses.
  • Fits, adjusts, and aligns components such as gears, bearings, drive shafts, and conveyor assemblies.
  • Fits and installs plumbing such as drains, manifolds, and spray tubes.
  • Fabricates and installs control and junction boxes and various covers and doors.
  • Uses computer to look up various part numbers, locations, and due dates.
  • Verifies bills of materials.
  • Uses appropriate materials, equipment, and tools according to specifications.
  • Reads and follows blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Fits out and assembles modules into complete systems:
  • Installs options per customer order
  • Installs pumps, plumbing main trunk line and air lines
  • Fabricates and installs covers and lids
  • Inspects machines for flaws and defects
  • Cleans and vacuums units.
  • Installs electric conduit, and tests systems.
  • Checks over-temp, wire readings, and conveyor.
  • Tears down systems, cleans out any water, and prepares for crating.
  • Detects and reports faulty operation, defective material and equipment, drawing discrepancies, and other unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Observes all safety regulations and maintains work place in orderly condition.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
  • High school graduate with 2 years vocational technical training preferred.
  • Three years related experience or 2 years vocational technical training.
  • Requires judgment to plan and perform final inspection and test run systems, interpret drawings and specifications, check and adjust various assemblies and components for proper operation, use adjustable measuring instruments, meters and gauges, and possess basic knowledge of the characteristics of chemistries used in the processes employed.
