Blair Companies is actively seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Accounting to work at its primary manufacturing facility in Altoona, Pennsylvania.  Blair Companies is a recognized leader in the design, production and installation of signage, custom millwork, architectural facades and lighting systems.  Blair has additional holdings in a wide variety of manufacturing and service entities. 
 
Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Finance, the individual in this role will have broad responsibility for providing accounting services to leaders in the operations and project management areas; for preparing and distributing financial reports to senior management regarding costs and productivity; and for conducting month-end account analyses and reconciliations, as required.  The successful candidate will directly supervise accounting staff handling the invoicing, payables and collections functions and will be expected to assist in developing and implementing improved internal controls and policies.
 
Candidates should have a Bachelors degree in accounting or finance and significant, relevant experience with manufacturing or industrial service companies.  A C.P.A. credential is preferred but not required for consideration.  Demonstrated prowess in financial analysis is expected in addition to well-developed computer skills, particularly with Excel, Dynamics and OpenMFG.  Demonstrated supervisory ability and a genuine team orientation are necessary.

Health Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Blair shares cost of premium for family or individual coverage.

Life Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Company funded life insurance, with the option to sign up for additional insurance paid for by the employee.  Includes spouse and children also.

Flexible Spending Account
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Reimburses employees for qualifying healthcare and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Paid Leave
Blair provides Paid Leave to regular, full-time and part-time employees based upon their length of service with the Company.  Employees may use accrued Paid Leave for vacation, personal business or time off for a personal health condition in accordance with established policy.

Paid Holidays
Eligible after 90 days of employment.  Up to 9 paid holidays for regular, full time and part time employees.

Retirement Plan
Eligible after one year of employment. Employees can contribute up to 15% of salary. Plan includes various, self-directed investment options.  Blair matches 1:3 of the first 6% of salary contributed.  Eligible to participate after one year of employment.
