Our Image Group main manufacturing plant is located in Altoona, PA, however we have offices in other parts of the country.  We also have a business relationship with partners in Germany, Australia, and China.  We have approximately 325 employees, on two or three shifts.  We provide the following products and services:

Health Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 60 days of employment.  Blair shares cost of premium for family or individual coverage.

Vision Insurance
Eligible to join the first of the month following 60 days of employment.  This plan is provided in conjunction with the Health Care Benefits.

Dental Insurance
Eligible to join the first of the month following 60 days of employment.  This plan is optional to those who chose to enroll in the Health Insurance plan.

Life Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Company funded life insurance, with the option to sign up for additional insurance paid for by the employee.  Includes spouse and children also.

Flexible Spending Account
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Reimburses employees for qualifying healthcare and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Paid Leave
Blair provides Paid Leave to regular, full-time and part-time employees based upon their length of service with the Company.  Employees may use accrued Paid Leave for vacation, personal business or time off for a personal health condition in accordance with established policy.

Paid Holidays
Eligible after 90 days of employment.  Up to 9 paid holidays for regular, full time and part time employees.

Retirement Plan
Eligible after one year of employment. Employees can contribute up to 15% of salary. Plan includes various, self-directed investment options.  Blair matches 1:3 of the first 6% of salary contributed.  Eligible to participate after one year of employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

2nd SHIFT SUPERVISOR
REPORTS TO:  General Supervisor
LOCATION:  5107 Kissell Avenue, Altoona PA  16601
SHIFT: 2nd     

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Leads and supervises fabrication and assembly activities to achieve established production goals consistent with standards of quality, safety, cost and housekeeping.
  • Plans operations, utilization of skills and man-hours, material and work flow to assure timely production and quality standards of assigned products. 
  • Organizes and assigns work and instructs, cross-trains and otherwise assists employees in the performance of their work.
  • Ensures the consistent use of safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE), supervises departmental housekeeping and maintains constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices.
  • Monitors and drives quality measures and implements continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provides information and collaborates with other internal groups to effect cost reduction, work simplification, production scheduling and manpower planning.
  • Participates in and coordinates programs related to employee communications, placement, training and development, orientation, quality, etc..
  • Promotes positive employee relations through daily, open and direct communications.
  • Ensures conformance with Company policies, practices and work rules related to attendance, performance, etc..
  • Qualifications:
    • Associates degree required, Bachelor degree desired.
    • Must have a minimum of 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on job shop/custom order.
    • Experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts and quality measurements.
    • Problem solving and conflict management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong initiative and follow through
    • Strong oral and written communications skills required.
    • Familiarity with Windows-based PC software and ERP system experience desired.
