CNC Shape Cutter Operator

DEPARTMENT: Machine Operations
LOCATION: 5107 Kissell Avenue, Altoona PA 16601
REPORTS TO: Area Supervisor
POSITION STATUS: Regular, Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

JOB FUNCTION
Operation of CNC Shape Cutters to cut Letter Backs, Faces, and Sign Cabinet Parts to be staged to other departments for manufacturing. Operation of a fixed-mounted router.

BASIC SKILLS - essential for all positions within the manufacturing group

• Understanding and cutting to the print
• Accurate use of a tape measure or other measuring devices
• Daily use of xTuple software for various transactions

CORE SKILLS – essential to this position

• Computer interface
• Hand tools, Power Tools
• Cutting metal, plastic, and MDF (mold parts)
• Quality control checking

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Manufacturing Environment- appropriate safety equipment and precautions required such as eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, safety footwear, etc.
• Lifting product up to 50 pounds
• Fast-paced work as needed
• Tobacco-free facility

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Observe all safety rules and policies at all times with materials and tools
• Receive and follow instructions from team leaders and supervisors
• Maintain quality standards as well as time standards
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including ensuring that bulk materials are appropriately stocked at all times
• Notify Supervisor of any discrepancies on Bills of Material, Bills of Operation, Prints, and Products
• Scheduled overtime as production requires
