OPEN POSITION: Vinyl Technician

DEPARTMENT: Decoration
LOCATION: 5107 Kissell Avenue, Altoona PA 16601
REPORTS TO: Area Supervisor

POSITION STATUS: Regular, Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

 

JOB FUNCTION

Application of digital printed graphics and hand cut vinyl produced from art work onto various substrate materials.  Using plotter programs and hand operations for cutting.  Equipment and hand application processes are used.

BASIC SKILLS - essential for all positions within the manufacturing group.

  • Accessing and reading the print
  • Understanding and vinyling to the prints
  • Accurate use of a tape measure or other measuring devices
  • Daily use of manufacturing software for clocking production hours, referring to production scheduler, etc.

CORE SKILLS – essential to this position

  • Fine hand manipulation
  • Eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to differentiate between colors
  • Computer interface
  • Machine interface
  • Lay out and fitting
  • Hand tools
  • Finish (Condition of digital printed and vinyl graphics)
  • Quality control checking      

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing environment - appropriate safety equipment and precautions required such as eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
  • Lifting product up to 50 pounds
  • Fast-paced work as needed
  • Tobacco-free facility

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Observe all safety rules and policies at all times with materials and tools
  • Receive and follow instructions from team leaders and supervisors
  • Maintain quality standards as well as time standards
  • Main clean and organized work areas, including ensuring that bulk materials are appropriately stocked at all times
  • Notify Supervisor of any discrepancies on Bills of Material, Bills of Operation, Prints, and Products
  • Scheduled overtime as production requires
