Our Image Group main manufacturing plant is located in Altoona, PA, however we have offices in other parts of the country. Drugs and Alcohol
Blair does not tolerate drugs and alcohol on the premises, or the use of either while working. We have the following polices in place: Pre-Employment Testing, Post-Accident Testing , Reasonable Suspicion Testing, CDL Driver Testing, Random Screening

Health Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 60 days of employment. Blair shares cost of premium for family or individual coverage.

Vision Insurance
Eligible to join the first of the month following 60 days of employment. This plan is provided in conjunction with the Health Care Benefits.

Dental Insurance
Eligible to join the first of the month following 60 days of employment. This plan is optional to those who choose to enroll in Blair’s Health Care Benefits.

Life Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment. Company funded life insurance, with the option to sign up for additional insurance paid for by the employee. Includes spouse and children also.

Flexible Spending Account
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment. Reimburses employees for qualifying healthcare and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Paid Leave
Blair provides Paid Leave to regular, full-time and part-time employees based upon their length of service with the Company. Employees may use accrued Paid Leave for vacation, personal business or time off for a personal health condition in accordance with established policy.

Paid Holidays
Eligible after 90 days of employment. Up to 9 paid holidays for regular, full time and part time employees.

Retirement Plan
Eligible after one year of employment. Employees can contribute up to 15% of salary. Plan includes various, self-directed investment options. Blair matches 1:3 of the first 6% of salary contributed. Eligible to participate after one year of employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION: Human Resource Specialist
LOCATION: Altoona, PA
STATUS: Full Time, Salaried

Manage key HR activities, including but not limited to the following:

Hiring, Onboarding, Employee Retention:

  • Oversee the hiring and onboarding needs of the company, ensuring supervisor compliance with the hiring process and a positive experience for the new hires from application to first day of work
  • Ensure Applicant tracking software is maintained and kept up to date with full data integrity
  • Work with supervisors to post new positions internally and on the employee intranet (Blair Information Center)
  • Arrange "About Blair" meetings for new hires within 1-2 months of hire
  • Employee Morale – generate or participate in projects to promote positive morale
  • Coordinate and arrange monthly lunches with employees and Leadership Team.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews to determine areas of opportunity for change and improvement

Policies and Procedures:

  • Provide leadership and guidance on Blair policy to employees and supervisors
  • Manage the new hire enrollment into Blair benefit options (Health, Life, Dental, LTD)
  • Independently prepare UC forms and filings as needed

Training and Development:

  • Develop training opportunities for employees at supervisor request.

Time and Attendance:

  • Manage the weekly payroll process with key individuals, ensuring payroll is completed accurately and within expected time frames
  • Manage the Attendance/Paid Leave records accurately
  • Generate and distribute all related reports to supervisors weekly

Other General HR:

  • Function as primary backup to Senior Administrative Manager
  • Assist with organizational events for employees
  • Support and involvement in company newsletter and other communication efforts
  • Miscellaneous admin support for other department supervisors throughout the company
  • Assist with travel arrangements as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources
  • Strong verbal, listening written communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be proactive, self motivated and self directed
  • Intermediate to Advanced Skills in: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Higher than average attention to detail and accuracy; passion for excellence
  • Team-oriented, customer service oriented; passion for people
  • Must be highly dependable / self-motivated / high degree of organizational skills
  • Ability to handle employee records and pay information with absolute confidentiality
