Since its inception as Central Blair Electric in 1959, Blair Companies has expanded into 21 diverse businesses, including the Image Group with signs, fixtures, lighting and architectural imaging; the Development Group with electrical, construction, coal resources and real estate; and the Venture Group, with stakes in a wide variety of local businesses. Health Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Blair shares cost of premium for family or individual coverage.

Life Insurance
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Company funded life insurance, with the option to sign up for additional insurance paid for by the employee.  Includes spouse and children also.

Flexible Spending Account
Eligible to join the first day of the month after 90 days of employment.  Reimburses employees for qualifying healthcare and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Paid Leave
Blair provides Paid Leave to regular, full-time and part-time employees based upon their length of service with the Company.  Employees may use accrued Paid Leave for vacation, personal business or time off for a personal health condition in accordance with established policy.

Paid Holidays
Eligible after 90 days of employment.  Up to 9 paid holidays for regular, full time and part time employees.

Retirement Plan
Eligible after one year of employment. Employees can contribute up to 15% of salary. Plan includes various, self-directed investment options.  Blair matches 1:3 of the first 6% of salary contributed.  Eligible to participate after one year of employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
REPORTS TO:  Director of Project Management
LOCATION:  5107 Kissell Avenue, Altoona PA  16601

Job Requirements:

  • Manage Client Relationship:                                                                
    • Review customer deadlines and act as first point of escalation for customer concerns.         
    • Accompany PM and/or Sales on periodic customer visits to keep a positive relationship and discuss any possible issues.                      
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by responding to requests in a timely and accurate manner.           
    • Maintain a reporting structure.                                                                                                                                                                                                        
  •  Maintain schedules of projects:                                                                                              
    • Act as first point of escalation for vendors, and assist PMs in working with contractors to coordinate permits, install dates, and any miscellaneous issues.
    • Keep all parties, such as customers, installers, general contractors up to date on what our projected completion dates are.
    • Act as interdepartment liason and escalation point for PMs to ensure engineering, drafting, and production all complete their part of the projects in time to allow for on-time completion of the project.
    • Possess detailed product knowledge, including materials and manufacturing details, in order to efficiently and accurately address issues.                                                             
  • Manage People:                                                                                                            
    • Oversee Project Managers and Project Coordinators in their daily duties and assign tasks as needed.                                                                                               
    • Be responsible for training and developing Project Managers to enhance career growth.
    • Develop positive customer relationships.                                                               
    • Negotiate pricing with contractors and customers to generate mark ups within the expected range.                                                                                                                                                                        
  • Invoicing:                                                                                                                 
    • Ensure completion of invoicing at the end of project completion, accurately and efficiently.
    • Ensure PM team has provided updated and current information for forecasting accuracy.   
General Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal, written, phone and negotiation skills.
  • Advanced skill level in Word and Excel
  • An understanding of construction and blueprints is a plus
  • Detail oriented
  • High organized
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
