Blair is seeking a Maintenance/Electrician Technician to work with us in maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical equipment and systems are safe and functioning properly. Job Requirements:

  • Multi-craft maintenance (50% Electrician / PLC 50% Mechanic)
  • Knowledge & troubleshooting skills using RS Logix including the ability to troubleshoot, read and write PLC logic.
  • Basic knowledge of computer networks, switches, IP addresses.
  • Knowledge w/ Allen Bradley motor control drives & Power Flex.
  • Must be able to make program changes on the fly.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot PLC based problems along with hard wiring as well.
  • Must be able to complete a controls project from start to finish, i.e. build the logic, transfer that to actual hard wiring.
  • A strong preference with photocells, motion sensors, temperature controls, feedback devices, proximity sensors, photo eyes and other sensing devices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of idlers, pulleys, bearings, gear boxes, motor starters, chain drives is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems is preferred.
  • A strong preference in working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot air compressor issues.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to electrical equipment for all-lighting including parking lot pole lighting, fluorescent, incandescent, and LED lighting fixtures, bulbs and ballasts.
  • Assist the plant team in routine multi-trade skills related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, general repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled, assigned or directed to ensure minimal down time.
  • Perform all duties and tasks within compliances of OSHA safety standards and best practices such as lock out/tag out procedures.
  • Ability to perform general machine rebuilding is a plus.
  • Ability to metal fabricate is a plus.
  • Welding experience is a plus.

 

Requirements And Skills:

  • 2+ years’ experience in maintenance/electrical work
  • 2+ years’ experience with PLC’s, Programming software and Ladder Logic for troubleshooting
  • 2+ years with use of schematics and blueprints
  • Able to work with live circuits in all low voltage situations (24 VDC-480 VAC)
  • Able to work 120 V – 46 KVA
  • Basic knowledge of testing equipment, such as multi-meter, amp clamps
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair/replacement of power and control circuits, motors, starters, switches, lighting, solenoids, transformers and other electrical equipment in all voltage ranges
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills

  • Manufacturing environment - appropriate safety equipment and precautions required such as hard hats, eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
  • Lifting product up to 50 pounds
  • Fast-paced work as needed
  • Tobacco-free facility
