Summary

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage customer relationship:
    • Establish customer deadlines.  Make sure deadlines are accurate and realistic.
    • Periodic visits to customers to keep a positive relationship and discuss any possible issues.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by responding to requests in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Maintain a reporting structure.
  • Maintain schedules of projects:
    • Work with contractors to coordinate permits, install dates, and any miscellaneous issues.
    • Keep all parties, such as customers, installers, general contractors up to date on what our projected completion dates are.
    • Be responsible for ensuring engineering, drafting, and production all complete their part of the projects in time to allow for on time completion of the project.
    • Possess basic product knowledge, including materials and manufacturing details, in order to efficiently and accurately address issues.
  • Manage people:
    • Oversee Project Coordinators in their daily duties and assign tasks as needed.
    • Be responsible for training and developing Project Coordinators/ Senior PC's to prepare them for a possible Project Manager role in the future.
    • Develop positive customer relationships.
    • Negotiate pricing with contractors and customers to generate mark ups within the expected range.
  • Invoicing:
    • Generate quotes on set product pricing.
    • Complete invoicing at the end of project completion, accurately and efficiently.
    • Be accountable for completing invoicing for projects as soon as they complete.
    • Ensure all dates are kept current to allow for accurate forecasting.
  • Additional notes:
    • A successful PM will look for opportunities to help increase Blair's profitability by looking for ways to value engineer signs or improve the efficiency to which projects are executed.
    • Position may require multiple overnight trips per year.
       

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of  Word Processing software;  Spreadsheet software and  Database software.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
